Sip a Piece of History: The Titanic Cocktail Waiting for You in Dublin

The tragic and fascinating history of the RMS Titanic is deeply intertwined with the island of Ireland. Built by the skilled shipwrights of Harland and Wolff in Belfast, Northern Ireland, this legendary vessel’s story began on Irish shores. While its legacy is known worldwide, few people know you can actually taste a piece of that history right here in Dublin.

The Taste of First Class: The “Punch Romaine”

On the fateful night of April 14, 1912, first-class passengers aboard the Titanic were treated to a lavish 10-course dinner. Serving as the ultimate palate cleanser between the heavy courses was the Punch Romaine (Roman Punch).

Originally crafted by legendary French chef Auguste Escoffier, this elegant cocktail is a refreshing, icy blend of:

  • White rum

  • White wine and sparkling Champagne

  • Fresh orange and lemon juices

  • A touch of sweetness, served over a mound of crushed ice
